Bring your stories and characters to life

Animation Design at ESPM is for those who want to create and bring to life stories, worlds, and characters for cartoons, films, games, and advertising. Here, we produce animations, illustrations, and 3D models, combining a cinematic vision of how to tell stories, the concepts of design, and the production process of this growing industry in the creative economy.

Students who choose to study Animation Design will take courses that present the stages of 2D and 3D animation production, in laboratories with the main software used in the industry and professors with professional experience to facilitate the student's real insertion in the market.

 

The goal of the course in Animation Design is to train professionals with experience in the production of 2D and 3D animation, illustrations, 3D models, and storyboards, combining the knowledge of Design with a cinematographic vision to tell stories focused on characters, with a strategic vision of the market in which they are inserted.

In addition to a conceptual and practical approach to the most well-known stages of the animation process, such as script, storyboard, concept art, sculpting, modeling and texturing of characters, rigging, animation, rendering, sound design, visual effects, and post-production, the course also keeps up with the innovations and latest market trends, incorporating themes such as extended realities, 3D printing, generative animation, and crypto-art.

 

ESPM's expertise in marketing and finance is a differential of the course that helps to form a professional with strategic vision of the market. Technology is also a highlight in view of the resources used in the market, such as the software Blender, Dragon Frame, Maya, Toon Boom Harmony, Zbrush, besides a render farm and high-performance workstations. It is also important to highlight all the professional structure of the audiovisual studios and motion capture equipment.

 

Our professors are experienced professionals and are always in touch with the animation market, bringing new techniques and methodologies to the classes and bringing the student closer to the reality of the industry.
